The Director of the Quality Assurance Council (QAC) of the University Grants Commission, Prof. Nilanthi de Silva visited the University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJ) on 06th of November 2019 and held a discussion with the members of Management Committee (MC) of IQAU regarding the progress of quality assurance activities. The meeting was chaired by the Vice Chancellor of the University who is also the Chairperson of the Management Committee (MC) of the Internal Quality Assurance Unit (IQAU). All the members of the Management Committee (MC) which comprise the Director of the Postgraduate Institute of Management (PIM), Deans of all faculties, Registrar, Librarian, Bursar, Co- Chairperson of the Research Council, Director of External Degrees and Extension Courses, Director of Staff Development Centre and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Coordinators of all faculties participated in the meeting. At the beginning of the meeting, the Vice Chancellor made a presentation about the present activities of the University and its future direction. This was followed by a presentation of the Director/ IQAU as to the present status of Internal Quality Assurance activities of the university, status of the external reviews conducted, and the Action Plan prepared to implement the recommendations of the Final Review Report of Institutional Review 2017. This was followed by a discussion between the Director/ QAC and the members of the MC. The Consultant/ QA and the members of the Corporate Planning Committee of the University also participated in the meeting on the invitation of the Vice Chancellor. To conclude the meeting, Prof. Nilanthi de Silva had a discussion with the Dean, Heads and the members of the IQAC of Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (FHSS) regarding the Action Plans prepared to implement the review recommendations of the programme reviews conducted.
