Rationale & Purpose –

University of Sri Jayewardenepura (USJP), a responsible and reputed national Higher Education Institution in Sri Lanka, supports conducting high quality research to address nationally important issues in pursuit of its mission and helps in achieving the national development goals. The purpose of this policy is to guide the establishment of a conducive research environment within which academic/administrative staff and postgraduate research students will conduct high quality research leading to scholarly publications and innovations to foster prosperity and wellbeing of the people of Sri Lanka and the globe.  It aims to provide an overarching framework for the development and implementation of research management at the USJP and outline the responsibilities expected of all persons (staff/ students/ visitors) engaged in research, innovations and academic publications at the USJP.

 

Scope –

This policy applies to all academic/administrative staff members and the research students who are involved in research in the university under any capacity.

 

Policy Statement –

USJP will be committed for creation and dissemination of knowledge by providing a supportive environment and promoting collaborative research with national and internationally recognized institutes for its staff and students to pursue research, innovations and scholarly activities of high standards respecting ethical standards and abiding by university regulations.
